Emergencies involving downed powerlines

For downed power lines, seek medical attention immediately by calling Triple Zero (000) and report the incident to Western Power on 13 13 51.

While you're waiting for help, follow the below steps:

• Stay at least eight 8 metres from any line
• Don't attempt to remove the line
• Don't go near anything that is touching the line, such as vehicles, water or metal fences
• Keep the person calm and tell them not to move until help arrives

• Extreme weather conditions such as floods and bushfires
• Motor vehicle accidents
• Fallen trees
• Workplace accidents
